Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (NYC campus)  
over 25 years experience     

Hui Li, a native of China, received her medical degree from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese   Medicine (TCM), one of the top five TCM Universities in China, in 1984 after being trained in both oriental and western medicine.  She went on to complete 5 years of residency in Guang Anmen Hospital in Beijing (affiliated hospital of China Academy of TCM), and the Acupuncture Institute of the China Academy of TCM, the leading TCM institution in China.  The Acupuncture Institute is one of the four World Health Organization Collaborating Centers of Traditional Medicine in China. 

From 1990 to 1996, she practiced acupuncture and Chinese  Herbology as an attending physician at the Acupuncture Institute in Beijing.  Between 1993 and 1994, she was sent to Turkey by the China National Administration of TCM as a visiting physician.  

Shortly after she came to the U.S. in 1996, she began teaching acupuncture and Chinese Medicine as a professor at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (New York campus), the largest and leading graduate college of Oriental Medicine in the States.  She served as the Departmental Chair of Acupuncture at Pacific College from 2002 to 2008.  She is also an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist, is a Diplomate in Chinese Herbology, and has practiced acupuncture in New York State since 1997.   

 



 

James Bare, Ph.D., L.Ac.  

James Bare, Ph.D., L.Ac., graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1970 and received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1975. 

He has held academic positions at Lawrence University, Oberlin College, Carleton College, SUNY New Paltz, and the University of Minnesota, and has lived and worked abroad in Taiwan, India, Singapore, and Korea.

He graduated in 1998 from the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he currently holds the position of Dean.

He is certified in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, and Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is licensed to practice acupuncture in New York State. He has been practicing acupuncture since 1999.
